Experimental study on reinforced retaining wall by artificial textileon supersoft soil foundation

Abstract: To understand the properties of a reinforced retaining wall on super-soft soil foundation, the data of related parameters ,such as settlement, deflection, pore water pressure and soil pressure, were observed for about one year. The results indicate that: the most dangerous status of this type happens during construction; the reinforced soil can fairly disperse the foundation pressure, balance unequal settlement and reduce total settlement; the wall has fair safety factor and can be further optimized. The design method about reinforced retaining wall is also discussed in the thesis. 
