Abstract: Based on the largeeddy numerical simulation method,the flow properties around three kinds of spurdikes,i.e.,60° groyne,90° groyne and 120° groyne(the inclined angle representing an angle between the groyne with river bank),are studied.The basic equations for numerical simulation are the largeeddy simulation equations.The most widely used Smagorinsky model is adopted to represent the eddy viscosity coefficient in the subgridscale stresses.And then a numerical method is given.The computed results are detailedly verified by the experimental data.Finally,the velocily distributions around the three kinds of spurdikes are given and compared
