The monitoring practice on the construction of the H uangguang dike of Yangtze River is represented in the paper.Several problems e ncountered in the supervision are discussed.Under the conditions of the existing constuction and the level of underwater topographical surveying ,to guarantee the quality of riprap works, the main measure is to control the amount of ripra p ,and the underwater topographical surveying only as auxiliary one.
