This paper summarizes the experimental results of gu ss concrete used in Geheyan Water Conservancy Project and Three Gorges Project.T he effects of several common plastifiers made in China admixed into guss concre te are compared with each other.The composition of guss concrete,its physical an d mechanical properties are studied.It is concluded that its composition is basi cally similar to that of the reference concrete besides the necessity of adding plasticiser;the set time of guss concrete may be put off for 46 hours later th an that of the reference concrete ;its compression strength,elastic modulus,ulti mate elongation and dry shrinkage will increase with the increase of its age.
