Abstract: Summer Asian-Pacific Oscillation Index (IAPO) is a good indicator of summer monsoon precipitation variations in east China. With the tree-ring width index as proxy data, significant correlation is found between the radial growth of Pinus tabulaeformis and the meteorological data (temperature and precipitation) in spring and summer. On this basis, the summer IAPO sequence in the past hundred years (1914 - 2006) is reconstructed by using
