Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle to a Large Water Conservancy Project

Abstract

In the aim of improving the efficiency of a large-scale hydropower construction in the mountain area of Yunnan Province, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was adopted in the aerial photogrammetry survey of reservoir area, tunnel, and diversion route. By integrating and coordinating conventional survey and UAV photogrammetry, the progress of the entire project efficiency under the same condition is maximized. Moreover, some technical problems during the implementation are analyzed. Results indicate that UAV photogrammetry could enhance the efficiency of the entire project.
