详细回顾了近10年来长江科学院公益性专业发展历程 , 着重介绍了在防洪抗旱减灾、河道治理、水资源管理、水土保持、水生态水环境保护、流域规划与水行政综合管理方面所取得的创新性科研成果。最后针对新时期治江工作的新任务和新要求，提出了公益性专业未来发展思路。

The paper makes a detailed review on the development of public beneficial specialties of the Changjiang/Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute in the last decade. Innovative research achievements are presented in terms of flood control, drought relief and disaster mitigation, river regulation, water resources management, water and soil conservation, water ecology and environmental protection, river basin planning, and integrated water administration. In line with the new tasks of river regulation in the forthcoming years, considerations for the prospect of scientific researches for public benefit are put forward
