Abstract: Considering th characteristics of shield constructio n,a simplified twodimension FEM modeling is proposed and an appropriate calcul ation program is worked out in this paper.This mathematic model can simulate the whole construction process including the excavation by shielddriven,the assem bly of outside layer lining and its support,and in condition of the water pressu re together born by the inner and outer linings etc.Through calculation analysis of an engineering illustration,the basic characteristics of deformation of lini ngs generated from exerted forces are obtained.This program may be used for lini ng design of shield construction tunnels
