In the light of major problems concerning the worsening ecological environment at the source of the Yangtze River, such as grassland degeneration, shrinkage of forest, soil erosion, expansion of desertification, deterioration of survival conditions of species, endangered biodiversity, global warming, glacier melting as well as frequent natural disasters, the authors analyze and point out the special importance in stepping up protection of main ecological environment, and put forward suggestions and countermeasures to intensify protection of ecological environment at the source area of the Yangtze River at present.
