Abstract: For understanding the properties of the white-sand rock in Zhungaer basin being used as filling materials of cha nnel foundation, a test study was performed. The characteristic of the white-sand rock is between the hard soil and soft rock. It will becom e loose when this rock is disturbed. The test result shows that, by compaction, fine sands and mid-fine sands of the rock possess the charac teristics of non-expansion, weak freeze-expansion, exceedingly light perviousness and high shearing strength. The materi al was used in some engineering, which has run for 4 years, and the channel is i n good order.
